Bunnicula by Deborah and James Howe

Bunnicula is the first book in a rabbit tale mystery series that chronicles the escapades of the Monroe family and their three pets.  The adventure begins when the Monroe family rescues a rabbit that Chester, their cat is convinced is a vampire.  This novel is so much fun, it is a great read aloud during October or any time of the year!
 
This unit contains nine pages of comprehension questions, ten pages of reading extension activities, and eight pages of vocabulary work.  While reading Bunnicula to my students, I found that this novel is filled with challenging words.  Therefore, there is a large focus on using context clues and the dictionary to understand unknown words.
