Renee is a teacher, learning resource creator, and mom. She has over 14 years of experience in education: both in classrooms across the U.S. and creating fun resources for teachers.

Renee is an educator and world traveler. Born and raised in North Dakota, she has since lived throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Renee has a dual degree in elementary education and early childhood development. She got her start in the classrooms of North Dakota, where she taught in Head Start, kindergarten, and 2nd and 3rd grades. In 2008 she moved to Hawaii, transitioning to 4th grade. In 2012 the Hawaii State Teacher Association selected her as the Teacher Honoree for Pearl Harbor Elementary School.

In 2012 Renee also began creating learning resources for teachers. Her goal is to create materials that make learning fun and engaging for students, and easy for teachers. Her products include resources for classroom management, math, and science, but her passion is creating products for children's literature.

Renee's learning resources are sold and distributed on Teachers Pay Teachers, Teacher's Notebook, and TES.

THE TEACHER'S SUITCASE STARTED...

as a place to collect thoughts and ideas about making learning fun. Renee started making learning resources for teachers before she had a little one at home. Since then, she began adapting her resources for educating in the home and started the Teacher's Suitcase to share those ideas with other parents.

The name for the blog was chosen because Renee has a love for travel. Since starting as a teacher, Renee has lived in five states in the U.S. and Romania. She enjoys globetrotting, even with a little one, and brings her love for life to both pursuits.
